What keeps a no show sock on your heel

Silicone where the heel lifts
Three or four soft silicone strips sit inside the back of the sock. They hold on to your skin at the moment the heel lifts out of the shoe, which is exactly when a plain sock starts to slide.

Cut below the collar
The opening sits under the ankle and low at the toes. Look down while you walk in sneakers and you see shoe, then skin.

A cuff that does not bite
The elastic runs around the whole opening. It should feel snug when you pull it on and forgotten ten minutes later. If it leaves a deep mark, go up a size.

Wernies men's no show socks
Your oxfords, boat shoes and trainers all hide the same sock. The men's packs come in M for shoe sizes 6 to 10 and L for 11 to 13, and in bags of up to twelve pairs.

Ruffle socks with a frill you fold
Not every sock should hide. The ruffle crew socks have a frilled cuff you can wear pulled up, folded down at the ankle, or turned inside out so the frill shows more. They go under a dress as easily as with white sneakers.
They come in packs of six: all white, a rust, white, gray and black mix, or black, white and gray. The small size fits shoe sizes 5 to 9, the medium 9 to 12.

How to choose your size
Go by shoe size, not by S, M, L
Every pack is sold by US shoe size range, such as 5 to 8 or 11 to 13. Find the range that holds the size you buy shoes in.
On the line between two ranges
If your shoe size is the top of one range and the bottom of the next, take the larger one. A no show sock that is too small pulls the heel forward, and then it slips.
Women's and men's ranges differ
Women's packs are cut for women's shoe sizes and men's for men's. A women's 9 is roughly a men's 7 and a half, so read the label on the pack, not the color.
Match the height to the shoe
Sneakers, loafers and boat shoes take a low cut no show. Boots and high-tops want a crew. Ballet flats and extra-low slip-ons show the edge of most no show socks, ours included.
Count the week
Eight pairs covers a working week and the weekend with one to spare. Ten or twelve lets a load of laundry wait a few days.

What Wernies is
Wernies has made socks since 2018. The range is small on purpose: no show socks with silicone in the heel for women and men, and a handful of crew and ruffle socks for the days you want them seen.
You will not find a hundred prints in the Wernies catalog. You will find the same few cuts in the colors people wear every day, in packs large enough to rotate through a week.

Will Wernies no show socks stay on your heel?
Every Wernies no show model has silicone strips inside the heel: three on most models, four layers on the cushioned mesh model. They hold at the moment your heel lifts out of the shoe. The other half of the answer is size: a sock that is too small pulls forward and slips, so if you are between two ranges, take the larger one.
Which size should you order?
Go by your US shoe size. Women's packs are cut 5 to 8 and 8 to 11 on most models, with ranges up to 14 on the classic model and the liners. Men's packs are 6 to 10 and 11 to 13. The sock size guide lists every model.
Will a no show sock show above your shoes?
Not above sneakers, loafers, athletic shoes or, for the men's classic model, boat shoes. Ballet flats and extra-low slip-ons show the edge of most no show socks, including our classic women's pair, so each product page says which shoes that model is cut for.
Can you put these socks in the washing machine?
Most of our packs say machine wash, but instructions differ between packs, so read the one printed on yours. Washing inside out and drying on low heat helps the silicone strips and the elastic last. Our sock care guide goes through it step by step.
